Keep an eye out for bald eagles, sandhill cranes, woodpeckers, river otters and gopher tortoises. Further up the Little Econlockhatchee River, the Little Big Econ State Forest provides more hiking, biking and canoeing opportunities in its forests and wetlands. A short drive away, the Fort Christmas Park includes a replica of a fort, pioneer homes and a sugar cane mill.
